Georgia Black is an alternative R&B powerhouse from North London, based in Brighton, inspired
by iconic voices like Shirley Bassey, Etta James, and Peggy Lee. Known for her rich, soulful tone
and commanding stage presence – described by Chrd Magazine as nothing short of a force of
nature – her recent work has gained growing recognition, including BBC Introducing airplay for
her single “Rope” (feat. Nutty P) on Sussex & Surrey by DJ Melita Dennett.
Building on this momentum, UKG pioneer Zed Bias has remixed two singles from her debut
album – “Ruler” and “Kicks” – bringing a new electronic edge to her sound, with the pair now
collaborating on her next EP.
Her 2025 debut album Rope, produced by Nutty P, is her most daring and personal project yet –
exploring power, surrender, and transformation. The title track captures the addictive pull of a
toxic connection; “Ruler” celebrates stepping into your power; while “Kicks” revels in chemistry,
rhythm, and release. Shaped by loss, love, and rebirth, the project reframes vulnerability as
strength, unpicking patterns in relationships and identity, and transforming them into something
fierce, soulful, and liberating.
Her music has also taken centre stage in the feature film State of Consciousness, starring Emile
Hirsch, which features five of her songs – including “Ruler,” “Kicks,” and the focus track “The
Golden Doors” – bridging her emotional storytelling with the cinematic world.
Since emerging as a solo artist, Georgia has carved her own lane, blending Jazz, Blues, and
Soul roots with sleek modern production. She has supported soul legend Omar and performed in
Punchdrunk’s acclaimed immersive production The Drowned Man – where Breaking Bad’s Aaron
Paul called her “amazing.” Audiences also included Adele, Prince Harry, and Madonna.
Georgia’s career originally began fronting Agent Provocateur’s show-band Dirty Stop Out,
sharing stages with The Clash’s Mick Jones and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie at venues from
Camden’s KOKO to Vienna’s Life Ball and Berlin Fashion Week.
Today, Georgia continues to expand her sound and reach, building a body of work that bridges
classic soul heritage with contemporary UK innovation.
